What is a PE stamp (and when do you need one)?
A professional engineer seal signals responsible charge. Many U.S. building departments require it before issuing permits.
A PE stamp certifies that drawings or calculations were prepared or thoroughly reviewed under a licensed engineer’s responsible charge. Building departments often require seals for structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and civil work before permits are issued. If your AHJ checklist lists “engineer’s stamp,” AllPEStamp can match a licensed engineer to the project state.
State licensing for permit packages
Seals are jurisdiction-specific. Your project location — not your office location — drives which license is required.
In the United States, Professional Engineers are licensed by state boards. A license from another state does not stamp a permit set. AllPEStamp routes each project to an engineer holding active licensure where the work will be permitted, whether that is Texas, California, Florida, or another state we cover. We do not provide PE stamping in Canada.
How AllPEStamp quoting works
See a general PE stamping price from the sheet count or a sample plan.
The live quote prices PE stamping by sheet count, from $100 per sheet down to $25 per sheet as the set gets larger. Enter the number of pages or select a sample plan for the discipline. Rush adds 40% and emergency adds 80%. Uploading the plan set is optional. CAD drawing packages are still priced by square footage. Final pricing is confirmed after plan review.
Preparing a cleaner permit set
Complete title blocks, clear scope notes, and discipline separation reduce review cycles.
Before upload: confirm project address and jurisdiction, separate disciplines when possible, include relevant calculations, and note AHJ comments if this is a resubmittal. Cleaner packages mean faster PE review and fewer revision loops after comments come back.
